EFRAIM C. GENUINO international poker tournament
Down to just five players MR. CRIS a.k.a “oplong” found his way to be the chip leader when MR. JAMES YOON, who has the biggest stack tried to steal the pot by raising after the flop, cris called the raise and when the turn card was shown mr. yoon showed weakness by just checking, cris went for the kill and pushed his remaining chips beyond the line…a fold by mr. james was the result. This is just one of the satellite tournament highlights for the EFRAIM C. GENUINO international poker tournament here at WILD ACES SPORTS CLUB held last March 19, 2010 (Thursday). It was a breath taking event cause all through out the game no one was really ahead. After mr. yoon was busted out of the game, cris was bumped-out just after a few hands by MR. SIMBA, having a suited ace and seven, cris re-raised mr. simba who was holding an ace and a king, went for all-in, the former calling and got his seven on the flop but probably with the help of the
poker gods the king was rivered by mr. simba ousting the lone Filipino survivor out of the tournament from then on nothing went wrong for this soft spoken and very friendly Korean player, besting his last two foes, first eliminating the best bet to win the tournament.. MR. YOUNG, a pocket rockets of mr. simba against the fish hooks of mr. young. The two players were up on their feet right after the red card( all-in card ) hit the felt in front of mr. young, it was not even a close game, trash cards right from the flop until the river. The only thing mr. young could do was shake his head( and mr. simba’s hand) in disbelief on the luck his co-patriot is having on that moment and the chance of not having a crack on the guaranteed 1 million dollars chairman’s tournament. A chip-up break before the head’s up gave MR. ALEX CHOI and mr. simba a little breather. As the latter having 3 times the stack of his opponent-friend, their face to face was a
breeze, although mr. alex tried his best it was still no match for the solid game mr. simba is showing, not mentioning his romance with lady luck that day.
